PlatinumNumemon’s Jewelry is one of the many strange side missions that can be found in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. This quest is to help the problematic Bearmon Brothers chase down the elusive PlatinumNumemon to reclaim its stolen jewelry.
Although the task appears simple enough—to find and beat PlatinumNumemon—the location of the Digimon can be tricky to determine because of misleading hints and teleportation bugs. This guide explains exactly how to start, locate, and complete PlatinumNumemon’s Jewelry quest with a minimum of hassle.
How to Start PlatinumNumemon’s Jewelry
Quest Prequisites
Before you can start the PlatinumNumemon’s Jewelry side quest, you will need to:
- Complete the “Incoming Conflict” main quest.
- Defeat Vulcanusmon, the chapter’s main boss.
Once both are done, you’ll receive a message from the Bearmon Brothers hinting at their renewed attempt to “finally get PlatinumNumemon’s Jewelry this time.”
Finding the Bearmon Brothers
Return to Central Town after reading their message.
- Head to the Downtown District, where you’ll find the Bearmon Brothers chatting with Solarmon, their new gang member.
- Speak with the Big Bearmon Brother to officially start the side quest.
- They’ll tell you to join them in the City Sewers to search for PlatinumNumemon.
Looking through the City Sewers
Venturing into the sewers—accessed by crossing the small broken fence near Arukenimon’s area—you’ll be faced with a horde of respawning Digimon.
Following the initial part, you’ll experience a cutscene featuring the Bearmon Brothers and Solarmon fighting three Numemon-like Digimon (actually Geremon).
Defeat the Geremon trio to trigger another short scene with PlatinumNumemon sneaking away in the background—a preview of events to unfold.
Tracking Down PlatinumNumemon
Step 1 – Speak with Deputymon
After the battle, the Bearmon Brothers decide to fall back and gather intel. Your next stop is the Warrior’s Watering Hole.
Head over to Deputymon, seated at one of the tavern tables. He informs you that PlatinumNumemon can be found in the lowest level of the Sewers—which is not by design a lie.
Once the conversation is over, the game will automatically send you back to the Sewers, but in the other direction. Don’t go down the path—it’s a trap.
Step 2 – Find the True PlatinumNumemon
To find the real PlatinumNumemon:
- Turn 180° as soon as you regain control of your character.
- Head toward the exit leading back to Central Town instead of deeper into the tunnels.
- Look for a narrow corner near the entrance of an Outer Dungeon—that’s where PlatinumNumemon is hiding.
- He won’t attack right away, but interacting with him will trigger the final battle of the quest.
Battle Strategy: Defeating PlatinumNumemon
Despite being a rare spawn, PlatinumNumemon isn’t particularly difficult if you’re prepared.
Recommended Setup:
- Bring Aegiomon or any Digimon with Ground-type magical attacks.
- Water-type attacks are also good against its resistances.
- Deal with its tendency to call up small Numemon as supports with multi-hit moves.
- Keep the pressure on with Ground or Water attacks, and you can easily beat it within a couple of turns.
Quest Rewards and Completion
After defeating PlatinumNumemon, retrieve the Jewelry it drops and return to the Bearmon Brothers in Central Town.
They will be thankful for your help and reward you with the following:
- Reward: Aura Skill (Recovery)
- Effect: Heals the entire party gradually.
Completing this quest also rewards Anomaly Points, which are used to boost your Agent Rank—a valuable tool for opening up high-level missions later in the game.
