In Ghost of Yotei, Atsu can do more than fight enemies; she can create beautiful music with the Shamisen. There are eight unique songs to discover, and each song has a different benefit, whether it be revealing hidden locations, finding treasure, or even unlocking gameplay mechanics. Some songs will be naturally earned through the main storyline, while others will require completion of side quests. Within this guide, we will show you where to find every song and provide details on what each song does.

All Shamisen Songs Locations

Below is a list of all eight Shamisen Songs locations in Ghost of Yotei:

Song of the Wolf

You can access this song by finishing any four of the ten Wolf Dens found throughout Ezo. Upon unlocking, it will mark the location of nearby Wolf Dens, and with the Primal Bond skill, lets you summon your wolf companion to assist Atsu in battles.

Atsu’s Song

Discovered automatically at Atsu’s house located in the Yotei Grasslands, this is the only song you can get during the Prologue. After the cutscene that follows Atsu’s mother teaching her the shamisen, you gain this song in your collection automatically. It does nothing for gameplay and simply acts as a basic practice song.

Song of Well-Being

Found at a Shamisen Practice spot west of the Rumoi River in Ishikari Plain, this song is unlocked by completing a mini-game at a hilltop location. Playing it reveals hidden Hot Springs throughout the region, which help boost Atsu’s maximum health.

Song of Shrines

This song is obtained randomly by having a Settler visit your camp in Ishikari Plain. Setting up camp repeatedly until the Settler appears allows you to learn it. Once acquired, the Song of Shrines guides you to nearby Shrines of Reflection, which are essential for upgrading Atsu’s skills.

Song of Spirit

You unlock this song by completing the Side Tale Master of the Shamisen at Master Heijiro’s Garden near the Yotei River. After entering a memory sequence and finishing the quest, the Song of Spirit is added to your repertoire, allowing you to locate hidden Bamboo Strikes, which are useful for increasing Atsu’s maximum Spirit.

Song of Revenge

Located at a Musician’s Camp in the Tokachi Range, this song is unlocked by donating 10 coins to a musician playing near a pond. Playing the Song of Revenge highlights unexplored Yotei Six Camps, each of which contains an Altar of Reflection.

Song of Vanity

Found at a Shamisen Practice location in the northern Crimson Forest of Teshio Ridge, this song is unlocked by climbing a snowy peak and playing on a straw mat. The Song of Vanity reveals nearby Vanity Gear, such as Dyes and Weapon Kits, to help customize Atsu.

Song of the Ainu

You acquire this song by completing two Side Tales: The Soul of an Instrument at the Ainu Musician’s Camp near Yubari Lake, and A Melody of Thoughts at Cukpet Hills. After finishing both, the Song of the Ainu allows you to discover lost Ainu items hidden across Ezo.
